(She/Her)

Throughout my life, I have often felt that I didn’t quite fit in many spaces, so I endeavored to create my own path. Starting with my Social Work Diploma in 2015, I discovered what, at the time, was just starting to be Trauma-Informed Yoga, and knew that was something I was going to be incorporating into my work one day.

After finishing my diploma I decided to take a break from Social Work and learn more about the physical body by getting my 2200-hour diploma in Massage Therapy. I loved it, and after working in massage for nearly 4 years, I felt like I still needed to do more.

I decided to go back to school and finish my Social Work degree. This journey led me to find Stefani Wilton of Mandorla Yoga Institute and her Somatic Embodiment Yoga program, which was like putting the final puzzle piece in place. Currently, I am expanding my education of Somatic Yoga Therapy with Mandorla Yoga.

I have a deep passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma and integrate my unique blend of modalities as well as my lived experience into my work. I believe that trauma can often make us feel like we are alone in the world, and my goal is to create a space that is adaptable, warm and understanding where people feel like they can show up as they are, be themselves and belong.

I’m so excited to walk beside you on your journey of coming home to your body and reclaiming your wild heart.

Identity & Lineages

I live and work in Moh’kinsstis (also referred to as Calgary). I want to express my gratitude to the Blackfoot Confederacy, which comprises of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai, the Tsuut’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, as well as the Metis people of Alberta Region 3 for sharing their land with me. As an uninvited guest, I understand the great responsibility of taking part in respect, reciprocity and relationship and I am devoted to maintaining those values.

I am a cis, hetero, able bodied, white female settler with English, Scottish and German ancestry. I value celebrating diversity, equity, unlearning, and self-reflection.

CYA-RTY200 Embodiment Yoga

I had the great joy of doing my 200-hour Somatic Embodiment Yoga Teacher Training with Stefani Wilton at the Mandorla Yoga Institute. Mandorla is predominantly informed by the wisdom of Ayurveda and Pavrtti marga philosophy.

Somatic Embodiment Yoga is founded in the Krishnamacharya lineage of yoga. It is inspired by three yoga teachers in which Krishnamacharya taught: Pattabhi Jois, Iyengar, and Desikachar, whom created the practices of Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Viniyoga.

With Gratitude

I would like to honour my mentors who have supported me and taught me so much. Thank you to Erin McFarlane for opening my eyes to anti-oppressive practice, teaching me the importance of social justice and always learning alongside me. Thank you to Stefani Wilton of Mandorla Yoga for seeing my wholeness and encouraging me to make it to the top of my metaphorical mountain. Thank you to Mandi Mack for helping me discover the joy of Yes, And. And thank you to all of my other mentors and teachers that held belief in me when I could not and walked alongside me in my journey to where I am today.
